I've been in school non-stop until this semester. Economic times are not exactly all daisies and fucking sunshine but I'm a believer in positive thinking. I've been looking for a job for over six weeks non-stop now and almost at my boiling point. I've gotten so many interviews just based sending everything out online but never reaching the "finish line". All these jobs were minimum wage jobs varying from retail sales to foods at kiosks.

I had two interviews this week, one at DAVIDsTEA and Juicy Couture. The latter actually was more of a fluke for me. Both interviews in my opinion went well, I felt like I had brought enough momentum for heavy consideration. I'm just gonna continue my search and hope for the best. But really I'm thinking:

Gotta get through a couple more interviews before I burn out like shit.

Where: JJ Bean at CBC Plaza - 740 Hamilton Street  Vancouver, BC (It's a local franchise you mainly find in or near downtown and I live near this one so it's great for a person on the go)

What they offer: Coffee, tea, snacks, and etc.

Recommending: The mocha. Nothing else. Period.

Price Tag: It's about the same as you would go into Starbucks, Blenz, and etc. but at at least you actually get a DAMN good coffee and not the murky shit.

Where: Metropolis at Metrotown - 4820 Kingsway Burnaby, BC

What they offer: decadent desserts or pastries,  and baked goods. Also provides yummy sandwiches + wraps, drinks and etc.

Recommending: I'm a huge fan of the fresh fruit tart, tiramisu, chocolate mousse cake and plain cheesecake.

Price Tag: It is a bit pricey but they are all made from scratch and I make a bee-line when I go to Metro ^^.

One of the main attractions of "le Festival de Cannes" is films that will premiere their finished product. It is one of THE most prestigious and grandest festivals in the world. You see the rich and famous dressed up in the most glamorous gowns/tuxedos (even the God damn paps dress up compared to the Academy Awards!) and jewelry worth even more than my house!

For 2011, on my radar are films like "Melancholia" directed by Lars von Trier and the Terrence Malick film "Tree of Life".

I can't wait to see the fashion even more. It's fun to look at some folks proving they are fucking hoity toity and making us wish we were there but at the same time, you'll root for the celebs you WANT to see.

On my radar: model Doutzen Kroes, Laetitia Casta, Angelina Jolie (she always brings it here), Ryan Gosling and those that are just looking damn good!

The allure of Cannes...so far.Collapse )

When I first tried Red Velvet, I just about died! I tried it about a year ago and have been crazy about it since. I can't believe that I never discovered it, I lived under a FUCKING ROCK!
